The field guide to San Francisco's dog parks.

Duboce Park is one of San Francisco's most popular neighborhood dog parks, with nearly 1.5 acres of off-leash space within the 4.3-acre park. Its location right at the N-Judah Muni stop makes it one of the most transit-accessible dog parks in the city, and a vibrant local community keeps it lively.
The off-leash area has two distinct sections: the "upper park" near Duboce Avenue is more open and suited for active play and running, while the quieter "lower park" near Scott Street offers a more relaxed setting. The grass surfaces are maintained through a sophisticated irrigation system and regular aeration schedule. Paved paths run through the area, and partial fencing helps define the dog play zone. The park is mostly flat with gentle slopes between the upper and lower sections.
Social dogs and owners who enjoy a strong community atmosphere. The two-section layout means there's space for both high-energy play and calmer hangouts. Great for commuters thanks to the Muni stop right at the park.
Weekday evenings from 5-7 PM are peak time when the local dog community gathers after work. Weekend mornings also draw a crowd. Early weekday mornings tend to be the quietest.
