Its spacious grassy expanse and proximity to the Inner Sunset neighborhood make it one of the more popular and accessible off-leash areas within the park.
This large, unfenced off-leash area features a wide expanse of open grass that provides excellent room for running, fetch, and group play. The terrain is mostly flat, with good sight lines that make it easy for owners to keep track of their dogs across the space. Scattered mature trees provide welcome shade on warmer days. The southern edge location along Lincoln Way makes the area easily accessible from the Inner Sunset neighborhood. The generous size means the area rarely feels crowded, even during peak weekend hours.
Dogs who need room to run and stretch their legs in a wide-open grassy space. The large, flat layout is ideal for fetch and active play. Dogs should have reliable recall since the area is completely unfenced.
Morning and evening hours on weekdays draw a steady stream of Inner Sunset regulars. Weekend mornings are the busiest. Midday on weekdays tends to be quieter and more spacious.
