Mountain Lake Dog Run
Mountain Lake Dog Run borders the 950-foot-long natural lake that gives the park its name. The off-leash area features approximately 2 acres of varied terrain, including both sunny meadows and shaded areas under mature oak and pine trees. The mixed-surface environment includes well-maintained wood chip areas, grass sections, and natural dirt trails. The park connects to the Presidio's larger trail network, making it perfect for extended walks. The lake area supports diverse wildlife including ducks and turtles, so dogs must be under voice control near the water. The park is typically busiest on weekends between 10 AM and 4 PM, with a strong regular community of morning and evening dog walkers.
